The Life Skills component of the “SMSB” Academy is critically important to Student-Athlete development. Life Skills are the areas outside of the classroom and playing field that either enhance or derail the student-athletes development and progress in high school and college. These sessions are led by the SMSB staff and other guest speakers along with college coaches.

The Lifting As We Climb Foundation, Inc. (LAWCF) is a 501c3, youth-focused nonprofit organization based in Detroit, MI & Washington, D.C. dedicated to mentoring underprivileged males, ages 13-18 years old. LAWCF created the Sound Mind, Sound Body™ program to use athletics as a vehicle to mentor young men and promote education in under-served communities. Since the program’s inception in 2004, over 10,000 high school students have participated and close to 82% of those students have graduated.

Savvy Senior is a media/information service devoted to baby boomers and senior citizens, and the families who support them. Savvy Senior offers unbiased information through a variety of outlets, including: Jim MillerSyndicated column: Published in more than 300 newspapers and magazines across the country, Savvy Senior is the No. 1 information column written for boomers and seniors in the USA.
